What is a cat colony?

A cat colony is a group of free-roaming cats that live together in close proximity. They are often "feral" cats, but can also include domestic cats.

Colony Management

Colony management is an essential part of maintaining the population and keeping track of the cats. This can include daily feedings, feeding stations and TNR.

Trap, Neuter, Return

Trap, neuter and return or TNR is so important to preventing overpopulation! TNR is when you trap a cat using a humane trap, alter them and then release them back to their colony. There are approximately between 60-100 million stray cats in the United States, so TNR is essential. For more information on TNR and feral cats, click the link below.

Sanctuary

Our goal is to make sure every cat gets altered to prevent overpopulation. When we are lucky, we are able to find sanctuary placement for our feral colony cats. This includes cat sanctuaries, permanent homes or barn programs. Sanctuary placement is difficult to come by, but we love it when we are able to place our cats in a safe and loving home.

Meet some of our "regulars"

These cats are what ignited our passion for rehabilitation, colony management and rescue in our community. They all hold a place near and dear to our heart, just like any pet would. Meet some of our regular residents at our Chandler colony.
